Studio Engine Werx Warranty Policy
STUDIO ENGINE WERX [from here forth known as SEW] WARRANTY POLICY
This warranty is for stock rebuilt engines. Engines built with aftermarket offroad only components or for on highway, off highway, professional, amateur racing of any type, forfeits any and all rights to warranty or guarantee what so ever. All non-stock supercharger, turbocharger or nitrous oxide [NO2] applications forfeits any and all rights to warranty or guarantee what so ever. Short block and long block warranty is for 18 months unlimited miles and begins when the customer signs and dates the final invoice. SEW guarantees machine operation tolerances and torque values are to within accepted standards of manufacturer specifications or those as stated in writing to SEW by the customer. SEW does not install valve covers, timing covers, oil pans or water pumps, unless specified and agreed upon by SEW. SEW does not warranty engines with damage due to oil starvation, regardless of the circumstance. Owner assumes all responsibility for the correct and proper removal, installation, component break in and engine tuning performance. Any resulting damage from any of these operations is the sole responsibility of the owner. The customer/owner waives any and all legal rights against SEW. Customer is responsible for final cleaning and inspection before installation of any part machined by SEW. Any failure to do so resulting in damage or failure of the part or the engine is the sole responsibility of the customer.

CUSTOMER ASSEMBLED ENGINES
SEW advises ALL components to be cleaned with hot soapy water and blown completely dry before assembly. SEW is not responsible for any debris which may have been left post machining process or any resulting damage. SEW does not warranty camshaft failures of any kind, NO EXCEPTIONS. SEW does not cover, the following conditions: Vehicle electrical or electronic systems and the functions of said systems or any related failure of this systems regardless of the interrelation of these systems and the control of the engine they are responsible for. Some, but not exclusive, examples are: Electrical or Electronic controls, fuel delivery system, ignition system, cooling system, starter, engine mounts, flex-plate/flywheel, clutch or transmission components, oil cooler, exhaust sensors, exhaust leaks, Turbocharger/Supercharger/NO2 controls. SEW in no way covers any expense related to an engine failure whatever that may be. Nonexclusive examples of non-covered expenses due to failure is towing expenses, lodging expenses, loss of wages, loss of opportunity, vehicle damage, or any other personal or financial loss which may have or is perceived to have occurred. Warranty is null and void if it is determined, engine abuse or proper maintenance has not been performed or if vehicle owner is unable to provide OEM approved maintenance schedule records with receipts at time of claim or If OEM approved maintenance schedule have not been followed. Any and all engine abuse. Examples of abuse include, but are not limited to, extreme off road use, racing of any type, exceeding Gross Vehicle Weight Rating [GVWR] or exceeding Vehicle Towing Capacity, any and all performance enhancement products. Operating engine with low engine oil levels, low coolant levels or low vital fluid levels. Any code as illuminated by any type of warning light, or improper fuel or ignition settings. Engine “break-in” procedures incorrectly followed, which may lead to engine damage. If any of these conditions are determined, SEW will not be held liable for any and all damages, financial and/or otherwise. SEW does not cover failures due to reused fasteners with any rebuild, regardless of the location of the fastener. All warranty claims are valid only if engine or component is returned to SEW for any warranty issue and is null and void if unit is opened or otherwise disassembled by any individual for any purpose other than maintenance of fluids and filters. With the permission of SEW, in writing, the engine or engine components rebuilt by SEW can be removed by a licensed repair facility and shipped to SEW should a failure occur. This would be at the cost of the owner of the vehicle and SEW is not responsible for the costs incurred by this operation. Vehicle owner has the right to view and inspect any related parts and repairs made for any proposed warranty issue at a scheduled time agreed upon by all parties involved.

CUSTOMER SUPPLIED AND/OR INSTALLED PARTS
Failure of customer supplied parts, or any related engine failure due to said parts is in no way covered under this warranty. SEW does not warranty parts purchased and provided by the customer or parts installed by the customer. SEW recommends replacement of all cooling systems [Radiators, Water Pumps, and Oil Coolers, etc.] or as a minimum, system removal and unit cleaned by a professional radiator repair shop. Any failure due to overheating or low/no oil pressure due to overheating or debris contamination null and voids this warranty.

LEAKS
Any leak from engine overheating, over-boost conditions or power adders shall not be covered by this warranty and is the sole financial responsibility of the vehicle owner. SEW does not install valve covers, timing covers, oil pans or water pumps. Warranty for leaks are Longblock engines only and those originally assembled by SEW only for duration of this warranty. Cylinder Head or short block rebuild leaks are not covered by this warranty or SEW. Any leaks detected must be addressed immediately. Engine failure due to low fluid levels nullifies this warranty. Any engine application which is sealed without a gasket; e.g. machined surface or use of ATV silicone or other adhesives in place of gasket[s]for gasket sealing purposes is not covered under this warranty.
BREAK IN OIL AND PROCEDURE
SEW recommends using Valvoline VR1 oil [or equivalent] of the manufacturer recommended viscosity and one bottle of ZDDP additive [or equivalent]. This break-in oil should be changed at 500 miles. For this warranty to be valid, the oil must be changed by a licensed repair facility, DIY is not accepted under this warranty. Documentation is required to satisfy this warranty. If no documentation can be provided, this warranty is null and void.

Recommended Flat Lifter Camshaft Break in Procedure [READ CAREFULLY] Engine must be filled with high zinc content oil (OEM recommended number of Quarts) and a zinc additive (4oz minimum), before initial engine start up. DO NOT ALLOW ENGINE TO IDLE AT ANYTIME DURING INITIAL ENGINE BREAK IN PROCEDURE! Engine must be brought to 2200-2500 RPM and held there for 30 minutes to allow New Flat Faced lifters and Camshaft to lap in. Procedure must be done for a complete 30 minutes. If engine begins to overheat or Fuel/Ignition adjustments are needed, engine MUST be shut off. Once issue is rectified, engine can be restarted and the 30 minute break in procedure can resume until the full 30 minutes is completed. DO NOT ALLOW ENGINE TO IDLE AT ANYTIME DURING INITIAL ENGINE BREAK IN PROCEDURE! The break in oil, oil filter and additive MUST be changed at 500 miles and then manufacturer recommended maintenance intervals must be followed. Any camshaft/valve timing device and its operation [VVT or DOD or other like operating equipment] is not covered under this warranty. Any improper operation or failure of these components will be the sole responsibility of the holder of this warranty to seek reparations from the manufacturer. Due to the complex operation of these devices SEW recommends engine installation and setup be performed by a licensed repair facility familiar with this type of operation.

THRUST FAILURES [READ CAREFULLY]
It is the customer’s responsibility to assure any component; e.g. Transmission or Transmission related components; must have manufacturer specified endplay so as not to unduly apply thrust forces to the engine. Crankshaft Endplay is measured and set by SEW with every complete engine shortblock and longblock rebuild to assure proper operation. Units assembled by anyone outside of SEW will not have any claim of warranty due to thrust failure.

For vehicles designed to tow, Signer is required to not tow with vehicle for 1000 miles after install. Unless vehicle is designed for towing, any damage resulting from towing will void warranty. It is the signer’s responsibility to inform the persons installing the engine into the vehicle regarding the requirements of this warranty. SEW is not responsible for this communication between secondary parties. Should a warranty repair be approved, SEW will only provide a single warranty occurrence. At such time this warranty is satisfied and fulfilled, no warranty will be available for any future incident or failure of this engine. This is a non-transferable warranty and only applies to said vehicle and said owner on this warranty. It is the customer/owners responsibility to make sure they understand all of the contents of this warranty, its requirements, terms and conditions, including any acronyms or abbreviations used.
